School Education Workshops

Murrook Culture Centre is located a picturesque 20 minutes drive from The Retreat Port Stephens and is the perfect location for indigenous education nsw port stephens. They offer a full day programme (10.00am-2.00pm) for primary and high school students of cultural workshops.

With a great choice of cultural activities to choose from your students will get a great insite and understanding to the local Worimi people on their traditions, history, stories, arts and crafts.

The Murrook Cultural Centre offers a large work hall where there are many activities to choose from and rotate through during your visit. Each workshop runs for 45min as groups rotate around the beautiful setting of Murrook.

A usual day begins with a welcome to country and outline of the day. Workshops run before and after lunch with a break for morning tea. Lunch (bbq) can be provided for all size groups at a small cost. Note: Bush Tucker tasting can be requested by groups which includes Emu, Kangaroo, fish, crab, oyster, lobster, damper, bush cakes all cooked with our very own herbs and spices from the bush. All ages. The cost for a bush food lunch is different from the BBQ lunch.
