Beach Vehicle Permits

All vehicles entering the Worimi Conservation Lands must be registered and display a valid Worimi Conservation Lands vehicle permit. The Worimi Conservation Lands (WCL) is considered a road related area and road rules apply under Road Transport (General) Act 2005.

If your planning on visiting the Stockton Bight Sand Dunes all vehicles need to be road registered or have conditional registration specifically for the Recreation Vehicle Area (RVA) on Stockton Bight. Motorbikes and vehicles with road registration from interstate are permitted to access the beach, and must display a current registration label and registration plate. There are two types of permits available:

1. Beach Vehicle Permits 2. Recreational Vehicle Area Permits

Permit Costs:

• Annual $30 • NSW Pensioner Concession $15 • 3-Day $10

Fines will apply for vehicles without permits. You can purchase your permit from the Visitor Information Centre at Nelson Bay or at the following locations click here.
 
The Worimi Conservation Lands are located in the Port Stephens area, north of Newcastle. Vehicle access is available for 4WDs.
There are two entrances to the WCL click here for information on getting to the dunes.
– via Lavis Lane at Williamtown
– via Gan Gan Road at Anna Bay Four wheel driving is a very popular activity, and the entrances can get busy during the holidays.

Permits can also be purchased in person at the NPWS Hunter Region office, or over the phone with a credit card by telephoning (02) 4984 8200. Please allow seven working days for your pass to be mailed out to you.
